Milton Van Buren County Republican. Born in Van Buren county, Iowa, September 17, 1868. Educated in the Southern Iowa Normal and Bloomfield public schools. Spent two years in the southwest. Entered the employ of the Bloomfield Democrat in 1890. Has been publisher of the Milton Herald since 1891. He also farmed and engaged in livestock buying. Served ten years as mayor, three years as a member of the school board, six years as president of the Milton Fair Society. Married March 5, 1895, to Miss Kate Linaberry of Bloomfield (deceased). A member of the Masonic and Eastern Star orders, Knights of Pythias and Pythian Sisters. Serving first term in the legislature.
