Adel Dallas County Republican Born in Winterset, Iowa, September 8, 1897. Moved to Des Moines in 1904 and graduated from high school in 1916. Received B.S. and LL.B. degrees from Drake University and was admitted to the practice of law in 1924. Practiced law in Des Moines until 1927, in Adel from 1927 to present time. In 1930 married Esther Dean of Des Moines. Adel city attorney 1930-32; Dallas county attorney two terms. Past president of the Bar Association of the fifth judicial district; member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Des Moines Consistory, Eastern Star, Elks Lodge, Odd Fellows, Rotary International and Alpha Tau Omega and Phi Alpha Delta fraternities. Serving second term in legislature. Republican floor leader in 1941.
