Davenport Scott County Democrat Born at Centerville, Iowa, December 4, 1909, a son of Alva and Mary Eckerman. He received his education in the grade school and high school at Davenport, Iowa, and graduated from the George Washington University, Washington, D.C, receiving an A.B. degree in 1932 and an LL. B. degree in 1936. He was employed as an attorney in the National Banking Examination Division of the Comptroller of Currency, Washington, D.C.; returned to Davenport, Iowa, in 1937, and entered the practice of law. Married to Florence Lewis of Washington, D.C.; father of one child: Robert Lewis. He is a member of the Sigma Chi social fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity, Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Pythias, Turner Society, Scott County Young Democratic League, Scott County Bar Association, Agenda club and the Advertisers club. A member of the Presbyterian church. Second term as a representative.
