Estherville Emmet County Republican Born at Chaska, Minnesota, August 30, 1909. Son of Henry and Julianne Degen. Graduated from the Chaska high school in 1926. Attended the University of Minnesota and was graduated from the Minnesota College of Law in 1939. Has subsequently practiced law in Estherville, Iowa. Member of the Masonic Lodge, Methodist Episcopal church, Phi Beta Gamma legal fraternity, Knights of Pythias, B.P.O.E. Married Jeanette Bilney of Estherville, Iowa. Elected to the legislature in 1940.
