College at Des Moines, Iowa State College, and was graduated from the College of Law at Drake University in 1922. Has been actively engaged in the practice of law with the firm of Hobbet, Blue and Blue since that time. Actively engaged in the operating of a farm near Eagle Grove. County attorney of Wright county October, 1924, until January, 1931. Past city attorney. Delegate to the Republican national convention in 1932. Married Cathlene Beale of Tama; two children, Barbara, 12 and Donald, 10. World war veteran, member of Masonic Lodge, Methodist church, American Legion, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Phi Alpha Delta. Elected to legislature in 1934, 1936, 1938 and 1940. Republican floor leader in the 47th and 48th General Assemblies, Speaker of the House in the 49th General Assembly.

College at Des Moines, Iowa State College, and was graduated from the College of Law, Drake University, in 1922 and has subsequently practiced law with the firm of Hobbet & Blue. Appointed county attorney of Wright county in October, 1924, to fill a vacancy and served until January, 1931. Was city attorney of Eagle Grove two years. A delegate to the Republican national convention in Chicago in 1932. A World War veteran, member of the Masonic lodge, the Methodist Episcopal church, the American Legion, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Phi Alpha Delta fraternities. Married to Cathlene Beale of Tama. Two children, Barbara Ann, 10, and Donald Robert, 8, born to this union. Elected to the legislature in 1934, 1936 and 1938; Republican floor leader in 1936 and 1938.

Was appointed county attorney of Wright county in October, 1924, to fill out vacancy and served as county attorney from that time until January, 1931. Was city attorney of the city of Eagle Grove from March, 1932, to September, 1933. Was alternate delegate to the republican national convention in 1932. Member of the Masonic lodge, the American Legion, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Phi Alpha Delta fraternities. Married Cathlene Beale of Tama, Iowa, a graduate of the college of commerce of Drake University, and have two children, Barbara Ann, age 8, and Donald Robert, age 6. Elected to the legislature in 1934 and 1936. A republican.
