Has one son, Donald, a graduate of Ames College, who is married and now operates the farm. Has resided in Winterset since 1920. A member of Methodist church. Past Master of the Masonic Lodge, Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, past chancellor commander of Knights of Pythias. Actively interested in community welfare. Serving second term as representative.

Winterset Madison County Republican. Born April 29, 1875, on a farm in Walnut township, Madison county, which his parents homesteaded in 1854. The operation of the home farm was inherited by Will J. Beeler, and he has remained a lifetime farmer and livestock raiser. The home farm remained in the family possession, and is now operated by A. D. Beeler, a son of Will J. Beeler. A member of the Methodist Episcopal church and the Masonic and Knights of Pythias Lodges.
