Married to Mabel Schutte on January 1, 1914; one daughter, Dorothy K. Served as township assessor ten years; past president of school board; president of County Farm Bureau during years of 1935-1936. One of organizers of Buchanan county R.E.A. President Farmers Grain & Stock Company of Jesup, Iowa. Member of American Lutheran church and Lions club. Serving second term.

Married to Mable Schutte on January 1, 1914. Father of one daughter. First term in legislature.
