Served as city councilman for three terms, on police force for six years, as sheriff of Crawford county 18 years, terminating January 1, 1939. Member of many civic organizations and lodges of which he has held many offices. Member of the Grand Lodge K. of P. for State of Iowa, also a member of Great Council I.O.R.M. for State of Iowa. A member of the Methodist church. Serving third term.
