Was graduated from Toledo high school in 1925; attended State University of Iowa, receiving B.A. degree in 1929 and J.D. degree in 1931. Practiced law at Tama since 1931. Served as Tama county attorney from 1933 until January, 1939. Chairman Tama county Civilian Defense Council. County rationing administrator, Tama county. Member United Brethren church, Masonic lodge, International Typographical Union, Phi Alpha Delta, Delta Chi, and Phi Beta Kappa fraternities. Married to Mary Ebersole of Toledo, Iowa; father of two sons, David Dee and Richard Lee. Serving third term.
