Alta Buena Vista County Republican Born August 7, 1874, in Toulon, Stark county, Illinois, son of Mr. and Mrs. Swan Peterson. Moved with his parents to Alta, Iowa, in 1876. Received his schooling in the rural schools of Cherokee county. Married in 1897 to Ida M. Johnson. Father of seven sons and three daughters; 15 grandchildren, all living. Farming and stock raising has been his chief occupation. Also spent several years in the retail implement business. Methodist and member of the various church boards. Owns and operates two farms of 530 acres, where he and three of his sons specialize in purebred Polled Hereford cattle and seed oats. Active in many community affairs. On County Board of Education. Charter member County Farm Bureau. Rotarian. Second term.
