Waukon Allamakee County Republican Born October 3, 1890, at Elkader, Iowa. Moved to Allamakee March 15, 1893. Attended business colleges and also attended Iowa State Teachers' College 1915, 1916 and 1919. Taught in rural schools in Allamakee county for five years. Served in U. S. Navy in World War I. Married Cora V. Henderson June 23, 1920. Father of five children: Lee H. and Allen Verle serving in the U. S. Navy, and Patricia E., 14, Helen M., 11, and Roger S., 2 years. County Auditor of Allamakee county, Iowa, from 1921 to 1925. Engaged in abstract and insurance business since 1925. Real estate broker. Chairman of Selective Service Board for 3 years. Member of American Legion, Masonic Lodge and consistory, Presbyterian church, and Farm Bureau. Secretary of Waukon park board. Farm owner. Serving first term.
