Centerville Appanoose County Republican Born Centerville, Iowa, Appanoose county March 25, 1917. Graduated Mystic high school, 1934. Entered U. S. Army, Camp Dodge, August 10, 1942. Served with 531st AAA (AW Bn). Trained m Texas, California, Virginia and Massachusetts over a period of 18 months. Spent 11 months in the European theater of operations. Wounded November 20, 1944, and returned to the United States. Honorably discharged April, 1946. Member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Married Elna Swallow of Menlo Park, California, July, 1946. Serving first term.
