Van Wert Decatur County Republican Born north of Des Moines in Polk county in 1884. Son of Lawrence and Nettie Belle Saylor. Educated in Des Moines schools. Moved to Van Wert, Decatur county, in 1900. Married to Elsie May Hall, February 25, 1906. Father of one son, Everett R., who was the state champion 4-H club boy in 1928 and two grandsons, Eddy and Eugene. E. B. has always been active in county and community affairs, having served as county Farm Bureau president, chairman of the first county warehousing board, chairman for three years of the county Old Age Assistance board, Member of township A.A.A. committee, president of the Van Wert Agricultural Show and Homecoming for eight years, and president of the Van Wert school board two terms. A farmer and stock feeder. Member Christian church. Serving second term.
