Fairfax Linn County Republican Born April 24, 1883, in Fairfax township, Linn county, Iowa. Son of Edward H. (Representative Linn County, 1917-1919-1921) and Hannah Knickerbocker, pioneer settlers of Linn county; graduated from Fairfax high school, 1900, and from Iowa State college, 1905, degree in Animal Husbandry. Associated in business with his father importing and dealing in Belgian and Percheron horses. Director of Iowa Horse and Mule Breeders Association; Farm Bureau; chairman of Linn County Draft Board No. 3; Iowa State Fair Board (1925-1941). A.F. & A.M., Consistory, El Kahir Shrine, O.E.S., S.A.R., Kappa Sigma fraternity. Methodist church. Married in 1909 to Edith Ross (deceased) of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Bernice (Mrs. Robert Packard), Kenmore, N. Y.; two sons, Ross and William of Fairbanks, Alaska. Married July 3, 1946, to Mrs. Maud Hollis Tindall, Washington, D. C.
