Tingley Ringgold County Republican Born on farm in Union county near Arispe, Iowa, October 22, 1904. Son of George E. and Clara E. Kester. Moved to Ringgold county, 1908. Attended rural schools. Graduated from Tingley high school in 1923. Attended Iowa State college. Married Beulah Knox of Clearfield, Iowa, June 2, 1927. One son, Marvin, 19, attending Iowa State college, and one daughter, Marilyn, 16, sophomore Tingley high school. Member of Tingley Methodist church. Served as Epworth League president, Sunday school teacher, church board member, Sunday school superintendent for 11 years, district vice president county Sunday School council, rural school director, county Agricultural Planning Board, township AAA committee for 9 years, including 7 as chairman, AAA Wheat Insurance supervisor, Boy Scout executive council. Owner of two U. S. and one Canadian patent. Serving first term.
