Hampton Franklin County Republican Born June 23, 1915, near Geneva, Iowa. Graduate of Hampton public schools and Grinnell College (A.B.). Attended College of Law, University of Iowa, and received J.D. degree with highest distinction. Admitted to Iowa and Federal bar in 1939, and practiced law in Hampton since then except three years while in armed forces during World War II. Married to Elizabeth C. Elliott in 1940. Two sons, Elliott L., born 1942, and John C, born 1946. County attorney of Franklin county, 1946-50. Member of Congregational church; Masonic lodge; Delta Theta Phi fraternity; Farm Bureau; Chamber of Commerce; American Legion; V. F. W.; American, Iowa, and Franklin County Bar Associations; and American Judicature Society. Serving first term.
