KATHRYN C. METZ Lamoni Decatur County Republican. Born Lucas, Lucas county, Iowa. Educated public schools and in Graceland and Penn colleges. A magazine writer and newspaper editor, entering newspaper field in 1930, working on newspapers in St. Louis, Denver, Chicago, and New York. Former publisher Lamoni Chronicle. In 1949 served as the first "exchange" editor between U. S. and Mexico, working for the Iowa Press Association and with the Garcia Valseca chain of 19 newspapers in the Republic of Mexico. Past worthy matron, Order of Eastern Star, Iowa Press Women and National Federation of Press Women, and Business and Professional Women.

Has two stepdaughters, Mrs. Alfred Dicker, Lawrence, Kansas and Mrs. Walter Johnson, Frankfort, South Dakota. A magazine writer and newspaper editor, entering newspaper field in 1930, working on newspapers in St. Louis, Denver, Chicago, and New York. At present on leave of absence as editor Lamoni Chronicle, Lamoni, Iowa, for assignment in Mexico as exchange editor representing Iowa Press Association. Past worthy matron, Order of Eastern Star, Iowa Press Women and National Federation of Press Women.
