Malvern Mills County Born October 18, 1882, on a farm near Oakland, Iowa. Educated in rural schools and Capital City Commercial College. Married Allie M. Thomas of Oakland, Iowa. Have five children, four sons and a daughter. Orville F., farmer, Avoca, Iowa; Leafy (Turner) Leader, on farm, Atlantic, Iowa; Mervin E., farmer, Hastings, Iowa; Max L., farmer, Emerson, Iowa, and Ned H., farmer, Malvern, Iowa. Moved to Mills county in 1918 and owns and operates with son a 320-acre farm near Malvern, Iowa. Served in many local offices and five years as county president of Farm Bureau. Served as State Representative in the 52nd Assembly and is now vice president of Live Stock Producers Commission company on the Omaha market. Member of Methodist church, Mason, Eastern Star and Malvern Rotary.

Malvern Mills County Republican Born on a farm near Oakland, Iowa, October 18, 1882. Son of J. H. Turner and Mary M. Cleaveland. Educated in rural schools and Capital City Commercial college of Des Moines. Married Allie M. Thomas of Oakland in 1905. Have five children, Orville F. of Avoca, Iowa, Mervin E. of Hastings, Iowa, Max L. of Emerson, Iowa, Ned H. of Malvern, Iowa, and Mrs. John Leader of Red Oak, Iowa. Lived on a farm in Pottawattamie county until 1918 when he moved to Mills county where he continued farming. Has always been a livestock raiser and feeder. Past member of school board offices, township offices and served two years on the county corn-hog committee. Was elected to five terms as president of the Mills county Farm Bureau and served on war committees of both world wars. Member of Methodist church, Masonic lodge, Eastern Star and Rotary club. Owns a 240-acre farm near Malvern and resides thereon. Serving first term.
