Estherville Emmet County Republican Max M. Soeth, born February 26, 1900, at Storm Lake, Iowa. Moved to Emmet County in 1913. Served in World War I and was discharged from the regular army at the age of 19. Finished high school education at Buena Vista College. Started farming in 1924. Charter member and director of D.E.K. Rural Electric Cooperative and has been a director of the Humboldt generating plant. A member of the Farm Bureau. Belongs to Masonic Lodge, Consistory, Knights Templars and the Shrine. Member of the Presbyterian church. Married Opal Hoffman of Storm Lake in 1924 (deceased). Has two daughters. Married Grace McKay of Estherville in 1951. At present farming at Estherville. Serving second term.
