Guthrie Center Guthrie County Republican Born on farm near Manilla, Iowa, January 13, 1916, son of Ray H. and Cora (Chamberlain) Thompson. Educated in Denison schools, graduating in 1933. Graduated from State University in 1939 and 1941, B.A. and J.D. degrees. Admitted to practice law in 1941. Married in 1940 to Madonna Umland. One son and one daughter. County attorney for Guthrie county 1943 to 1948. Practiced law in Stuart, Iowa, beginning in 1941, and in 1945 moved to Guthrie Center where now a member of firm, Batschelet & Thompson, attorneys at law, and abstracters. Member Guthrie Center Methodist church, Gamma Eta Gamma fraternity, past president Guthrie county Young Republican league, P. M. Masonic lodge, P. P. O.E.S., P. G. I.O.O.F., P. P. Guthrie Center Chamber of Commerce, P. P. Lions club, member Iowa State Bar association. Serving second term.
