Eldorado Fayette County Republican Grant Lauer, 61, is a Republican and an Eldorado insurance man and farm manager. A native of Eldorado, he attended rural school and later the academy at Upper Iowa university and Wartburg academy. He is a Lutheran who describes his hobby as "keeping buildings in good conditon on my farms." He owns 387 acres in Fayette county. His public service includes: director of production credit association, county fair president, member of board of Good Samaritan home and hospital, secretary of German Mutual Insurance association and director of Farmers Mutual Reinsurance association. The Lauers have a son and two daughters and seven grandchildren.
