Estherville Emmet County Republican Born in Guthrie county February 15, 1886, the son of Lutheran parents, Reverend and Mrs. Frederick Ehlers. Worked on farms in his early life. Educated in Calhoun and Buena Vista county schools. He married Matilda M. Mueller of Plover, Iowa, in 1917, and they have one daughter, Mrs. Loraine Cerwick and four grandchildren of Ames. He has been in the mercantile business 40 years. Was mayor of Estherville for 12 years. He is director of the Iowa Trust and Savings bank of Estherville. For eight years was county Republican chairman. Member of the Lutheran church. Farm owner in Fremont county. Serving first term.
