Mooty, the former having served in the House during the 37th, 38th, 45th and 45th extra General Assemblies. Graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1924, State University of Iowa in 1928, and College of Law in 1930. Admitted to the bar and practiced law in Grundy Center until 1942. County attorney, Grundy County, 1933 to 1937. Served as Young Republican and Republican County chairman. Served on Grundy Center city council. Member Grundy County Memorial hospital board. Director Grundy National Bank since 1934. Served with air forces from 1942 to 1946. Married Jean Lehman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, February 16, 1946; father of two daughters, Marcia Ann and Helen Frances. In addition to operating his own farm he manages several other farms. Also engaged in the automobile business in Grundy Center and in the farm implement business in Grundy Center, Conrad and Parkersburg. Elder in the First Presbyterian Church, American Legion, Rotary, Masons, Odd Fellows, and State Bar Association. Serving fourth term.
