Cresco Howard County Democrat Born in Lincolnshire, England, June 2, 1884, the youngest son of William and Elizabeth Howard. Educated in the rural schools of Winneshiek and Howard Counties, and Breckenridge Institute at Decorah, Iowa. Married Elizabeth L. Sexton in 1911. Has seven children. Was engaged in farming until the time of his marriage and then was in the clothing business for forty years. Retired in 1951. Is a member of Assumption church, Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, Cresco country club, Wildlife, past president of the Chamber of Commerce, secretary of the Calvary cemetery association for several years and member of the county Boy Scout board. Serving second term.
