Edgewood Delaware County Republican Born in Western Mills, New York, July 5, 1884. Moved with parents to Redfield, South Dakota in 1885. To Edgewood, Iowa, in December of 1894. Graduated from Edgewood high school in 1901. Attended Epworth Seminary, Epworth, Iowa. Taught school in North Dakota, returned to Edgewood working for implement and lumber company. Proved up homestead in western South Dakota November 1907. Worked for lumber company in Rapid City, South Dakota. In 1908 started poultry and egg business at Edgewood, Iowa, continued in produce to date except for short period in 1945 and 1946. Married Mildred Hesner in 1916, has two daughters, Mrs. Al Rasch of Buffalo, New York, and Mrs. John Ulrich of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, two grandchildren. Owner and manager of three farms. Served on town council three terms. Vice President of State Bank of Edgewood. Member of Methodist church, Knights of Pythias, Masons, Eastern Star, Consistory and Shrine. Serving his second term.
