Winterset Madison County Republican Born at Winterset August 17, 1897, youngest son of James and Helen M. (Perkins) Breakenridge. Was graduated from Winterset high school in 1917. Married September 14, 1918 to Vera Bowen of Chariton, Iowa. Has one married daughter, Fern Eloise Christensen of Metropolis, Illinois and two grandchildren, Raymond Lyle and Christena Sue. Has owned and operated his own farm since 1919, breeder of registered Shorthorn cattle. He is director of Madison County Fair Association, also member of Farmers Cooperative Association, Farm Bureau, Farmers Electric Cooperative, County Shorthorn Breeder's Association. He served previously as Farm Bureau township director, member of the school board and president of County Shorthorn Association. He is chairman of the Board of West Star Methodist Church and is its lay leader. Has been teacher and superintendent of the Sunday school and is temperance chairman of County Council of Churches. Serving second term.

He previously served as Farm Bureau township director and as a member of the school board. Is an active member of the West Star Methodist church near Winterset, Iowa. He presently holds various offices in the church and Sunday school. Serving first term.
