Osage Mitchell County Republican Born July 2, 1893, on the home farm three miles from Osage, which he still owns, and where he lived until 1950. Educated in county schools and graduated from Osage high school in 1912. Taught a rural school the next year, then engaged in farming. As a member of Company G, 129th Infantry, 33rd Division, he spent a year in France during the first World War, taking part in the Somme-Meuse and Argonne offensives, and later stationed with the Army of Occupation in Luxembourg. Married Ruth Forward of Edgewood in 1923. Father of three daughters, Dorothy Anderson, Barbara Oxenford and Elizabeth Lothringer; has eight grandchildren. Member of Farm Bureau, acting as treasurer for two years. Member of American Legion, Baptist church, and the Masons. Served as school director for many years, and as township assessor. Serving fourth term; served in 55th, 56th, 57th, and 58th General Assemblies.
