Served seven years in the United States Navy in World War II and is a member of the Pearl Harbor Veterans' group. Graduated from Drake University, receiving an LL.B. degree. Elected justice of the peace of Bloomfield township in 1950, then resigned to swerve as an investigator for the federal government for two years. Married Virginia Carmody June 28, 1952. Assistant Polk county parole officer and actively engaged in the practice of law, he is a member of All Saints church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks Club, Polk County Bar Association, and is now serving his second term.
