Ottumwa Wapello County Republican. Born March 31, 1924, at State Center, Iowa, and educated in elementary and secondary schools in Ottumwa. Attended the University of Minnesota, received the B.A. degree from Wesleyan College and M.A. from the University of Iowa. Teaches psychology in Ottumwa High School, and formerly coached football. He is a member and former trustee of the First Lutheran Church. In 1946 he married Dorothy Smith of Ottumwa. They have a daughter, Marcia Lynn, age 11 years, and a son John Scott, age two years. He served four years in the U. S. Army Air Force as navigator and radar operator. Serving first term.
