Educated in the schools of Hardin County, Iowa, where he taught school. Married Flossie M. Lepley in 1911, and is the father of two daughters, Coniston Zeller of Alden, Minn., and Betty Lou Baker, Anaheim, Calif. Moved to Dickinson County, Iowa, in 1913. Owner and operator of the Jersey Dell farm. Active in community work, including 4-H club work in the county. Helped establish the summer theater and summer school in the lake area. A member of the Masonic Lodge, Shrine, Rotary, and the Methodist Church. Honorary life member, USAF Air Defense team. Graduate of the Industrial College Field Course of the Armed Forces. Served in 53rd, 54th, 55th, 56th, 59th and 60th General Assemblies.
