Decorah Winneshiek County Republican Born 1906 in Winneshiek county, Iowa. Graduated from Luther College preparatory department in 1926. Married Irene W. Olson in 1929. The father of three children, Howard, born 1931, Marilyn, 1935, Walter, 1939. Started business in Decorah 1931, dealing in merchandise, which would be considered a service to agriculture, was a member of the firm Sersland & Winslow from 1934 to 1942. Partnership was dissolved. Bought a farm the same year, and maintained one implement franchise to the present day. A member of the Washington Prairie Lutheran church, a member of the Decorah Chamber of Commerce, a charter member and senior member of the board of directors of the Decorah Lions club. Past officer of the Winneshiek Farm Bureau. He is serving his first term.
