Ames Democrat 26th Senatorial District Story County. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1923, the son of Harold H. and Aline Nims. Graduated from Roosevelt High School, Des Moines, in 1941, and from Drake University with B.S. in marketing, in 1947. Married Margaret Rasmussen December 28, 1945. Children: Nyle, 18; Nancy 15; Nadine, 13; Norine, 12; Normagene, 9; Nichelle, 4. Pilot 2nd lieut. U.S. Air Force B-25, World War II. President and general manager Nims Sportsman's of Ames, wholesale and retail sporting goods and toys. Episcopalian, St. John's. Member Elks, American Legion, Izaak Walton League, National Sporting Goods Association, Ames Chamber of Commerce, Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, Story County Development Committee. Serving first term.
