Born May 30, 1943, son of Andy and Margaret Miller. Graduated from Heelan High School; named to the Scholastic Magazine All-American High School Football Team, 1961. Attended the University of Iowa and majored in business administration. Graduate of the University of Minnesota Juvenile Officers Institute. Also attended Northwestern University and Morningside College. Three children: Mark, Richard and Tia. Active in Explorer Scouts, PTA programs, past board member of Siouxland Drug Abuse Council, adviser to the Red Cross youth program, C.Y.O., Youth League, member of the Association of Chiefs of Police, Iowa State Policemen's Association and past vice president of the Sioux City Policemen's Association. First term.
