Born June 11, 1811, a native of Clermont County, Ohio. Mr. Conrey married Miss Nancy Lowery April 11, 1830, in Edgar, Illinois. Upon coming to Iowa in 1839, he first settled in Henry County, where he followed farming. In March 1845, Mr. Conrey moved to Marion County where he settled a few miles south of the City of Knoxville. He took an active part in the affairs of the county and was a delegate to the constitutional convention of 1846. His death occurred on December 16, 1886, in Knoxville.
