Born 1773, in Washington County, Pennsylvania, and died 1850 in Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa. He married Rhoda Haddasah Holly in 1804 in Pittsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. In 1809, Mr. Robinson and his family migrated from Washington County, Pennsylvania and settled near the Scioto River, a short distance from Old Chillicothe, Ohio. In 1838, he left Ross County, Ohio and migrated to the “Black Hawk Purchase” in southern Iowa and settled in Des Moines near Burlington, Iowa, where he located on a farm. Mr. Robinson was a democrat and was an ardent supporter of Thomas Jefferson in his election in the years 1800 and 1804. He was a delegate to the 1844 Iowa Constitutional Convention held in Iowa City representing Des Moines, County.
