Born February 23, 1803, in Hamilton County, Ohio. Mr. Day married Elizabeth Edwards March 27, 1825. In the year 1839, he came to Van Buren County, and entered 3,700 acres from Government, in Union and Cedar Townships. He brought his family out in 1844, and located in Union Township. Mr. Day was a member of the convention that framed the Constitution of 1857 for the State of Iowa. He was also one of the Trustees of the State Agricultural College, and also a member of the State Agricultural Society. He was a successful breeder of thorough-bred stock. Mr. Day was a Democrat.
