Isupport this bill. In Black Hawk County we have 5 supervisors who are elected at large. All of them live in Waterloo or Cedar Falls. None of them are from the surrounding townships or rural areas.Please pass SF 2283.

I would be more in favor of this if it switched counties to plan 2. Arguments can be made that this allows for more rural representation, which it may, but at what cost? If you look at most counties, they struggle to find township clerks and trustees as it is. Plus, voters would not get as much representation as they think they would because they would no longer be able to vote on all county board members, but rather just the one for the district they reside it even though the board as a whole makes decisions for the whole county. You could have a bad apple in a district, but no way of getting rid of them!
