I find this bill to be truly baffling. Why should the employee organization have to deal with the consequences of their employer failing to follow the law? This is a clear attempt to undermine unions, associations, and other employee organizations. This legislation punishes the employees for the actions (or inactions) of their employer.Additionally, this will undermine positive relationships between employers and employees. When the employee organizations' recourse is to take the employer to district court, that is a major hurdle in building an trusting relationship between employers and employees. This action is short sighted. What problem is this bill trying to solve? How will this promote good governance, good employment relationships, and make Iowa a place people want to live and work?

Good morningI am writing to express opposition to this bill. The intended changes will have a negative impact on public employees and employers. It does not make sense to penalize employees for something that is ultimately not in there control and this bill ultimately attempts to bust unions and harms public employees.
