I am writing in STRONG SUPPORT of this bill. I am Jewish and an Iowan and the Holocaust is important history to teach in all schools. I lost family in the concentration camps and #neveragain is alive and well even today. The Holocaust was one of the most horrific times in history where 6 million Jews lost their lives, and so did other groups that were deemed "dangerous" or "undesirable" by the Germans and the Axis in WW2 era. What happened during before, during, and after the Holocaust gives an important insight on why our World is the way it is now and that is important history we need to be teaching. Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. Thank you for considering this bill.

I support HF2179. A study from 2018 indicated a significant percentage of American adults, particularly millennials, lacked basic knowledge about the Holocaust. Teaching about the Holocaust in schools can help ensure that future generations understand the atrocities of history and to ensure history does not repeat itself. Please advance this bill.

I am strongly in favor of this bill. Both my children and I have suffered from antisemitism in Iowa. I have family that are Holocaust survivors. We need to learn where hate and intolerance leads.
