I started a vulnerable family resource through our church in Story City in 2022. We offer resources such as rental assistance (regularly paid to the landlord), clothing for infants through age 3, diapers, wipes and parenting classes to families without any I REPEAT without any restrictions about religion or marriage status. We have privately raised donations to provide this assistance to the young women seeking help. If we partner with counties, imagine the progress we could make to help these young people get out of emergency situations. It seems there is always an emergency because they are overwhelmed with lack of finances and raising rent and grocery costs. Florida has a partnership between government and private groups and reports good success. I am happy to see Iowa moving towards partnerships like this!
