I support the passing of this bill as we are seeing our schools accept virtual methods of payments and no longer accepting cash. Parents are obligated to purchase virtual event passes for district events, in addition to paying to watch their child participate in said event. The admission costs are increasing as they are absorbing the cost of the fees associated with having to purchase a payment processor and all that is associate with this. The acceptance of legal tender is also vital in helping students learn how to count back change appropriately, something we are not seeing today. Furthermore, the taxpayer dollar is now being used for the processing fees or subscription services associated with switching to only accepting virtual tender methods. Cash does not offer any additional fees to the taxpayer nor the district.
