I support this study bill. My father is now in a nursing home and with his dementia not being able to see family would be detrimental to his health. I've informed the facility that if prohibited by government from visiting him I would arrive to remove him from the facility. I saw too many depressed elderly during the covid shutdowns. Allowing staff to come and go, shop then return to facility but not permit family to enter is cruel to all. Please move this bill along and protect our freedoms.

Im concerned that this but Ill just go to face discrimination and it needs cleanedup. The horrible isolation that residents faced in 2020, 2021 and even into 2022 was lately NOT based on their diagnosis. The term infection control protocol is much too broad and vague. That could include up to everything that we dealt with in 2020 and worse. Prisonstyle visits through glass, no room entry, visiting dementia patients in cold building entryways, no contact visits 8 feet apart masked with residents hard of hearing, and not being allowed to hug Gramma. If this bill is intended to protect patient and resident rights, it does not go far enough.
