I strongly OPPOSE this bill and urge you to vote no on it. Banning gender affirming care for kids who are bravely trying to be themselves in our harsh world is needlessly cruel. As a mother of a trans kid, I a terrified to imagine the harm that this would do to her. Please vote NO on this bill.

Please deny SF110 any further progress in our state legislature. There is no social benefit to denying anyone healthcare, and denying gender affirming care to vulnerable Iowans is not the proper role of elected officials. Instituting a ban is signing a death warrant for an entire marginalised generation and I will make note of anyone who supports such action in the public record. Serve all Iowans and turn down SF110.

Please deny SF110 any further progress in our state legislature. Why are you trying to get involved between persons and their healthcare providers anyway? Persons who are researching and talking with their providers are not taking any actions lightly. Stay out of it. You dont belong in this decision. And by trying to make yourself and forcing your opinions on others, you are harming them.

This bill should be DOA. Let Iowans make their own choices about their own lives and bodies. This is a gross overstep of our state government.

It's important parents and doctors be allowed to provide gender affirming care to children and youth. With mental health crises among youth rising in the US, it's vital youth have access to the appropriate care for their individual and unique circumstances. No one should have their identity removed; this only leads to higher rates of depression and suicide, especially in children and youth.

Please vote NO on this bill. As the friend of several transgender people (kids and adults), I support their decision to be themselves and urge you to provide the care necessary for them to make that happen. The world is cruel enough. Voting yes will only make it worse and will cause more death/suicide attempts. Please don't knowingly and carelessly allow that to happen.

Please deny SF110. Gender affirming healthcare is... healthcare. The most qualified people to weigh the cost/benefit of any medical decision is the patient, their support network, and their healthcare providers. The government is in no position to make this decision more difficult for Iowans.

I strongly urge you to vote no on this bill. Care for a patient should be between a provider of care, the patient, and the patients parents or guardian. Directing medical care is taking autonomy away from the patient and taking the ability to practice individualized medicine away from physicians. This only causes harm.

Please Dont support SF110. It could make Iowa a bad place to live for teens who needed Gender Affirming Heath Care. Dont become the bully

Please vote no to this bill. Gender affirming care is healthcare. Care is an operative word. To pass this bill is to deny care and compassion to someone who is struggling. Medical professionals and mental health providers strongly point to the importance of gender affirming care as a lifesaving measure. Those of us without medical knowledge and training should NOT be making laws that marginalize people even more. We wouldnt deny dialysis or chemotherapy to someone. We shouldnt deny gender affirming care either.

I am the parent of a teenage transgender daughter and SF110 greatly concerns me as I have personally seen the positive impact of genderaffirming care. The genderaffirming care of HRT has helped my daughter to feel more like she sees herself. Suddenly not having access to genderaffirming care would be so, so detrimental to our daughters mental heath. SF110 would criminalize best practice medical care for transgender youthcare that is backed by every major American medical organization, including the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics. SF110 will negatively impact the mental health of LGBTQ youth at a time when its already in crisisa recent study shows 44% of LGBTQ youth in Iowa seriously considered suicide in the last year compared to 18% of nonLGBTQ youth. Moreover, the state of Iowa and its businesses stand to be greatly impacted if this bill passes. It is unsustainable for us to remain in Iowa if this bill passes. We would have to close our successful small business and move out of the state. I'm certain we will not be the only business to leave. As a mom of a transgender child, I beg you to vote NO on advancing this bill.

Stop the progress of SF110. There is no benefit to denying anyone healthcare, and denying gender affirming care to vulnerable Iowans is a disgusting attack by elected officials. Instituting a ban is signing a death warrant for a generation of trans kids. Why would the Iowa Legislature think they know better than DOCTOR? Wait, they know better than teachers too. Send SF110 to the trash and focus on real issues.

I am strongly opposed to SF110 and urge you to vote NO. Genderaffirming medical care for transgender youth should be determined by the patient, family and healthcare providers, NOT by Iowa legislators with little knowledge of the complex issues involved.

I strongly oppose any bills that will deny genderaffirming care to Iowans under the age of 18. Medical care should be decided only between a patient and their provider. Denying care can be harmful, and greatly increases risk of suicide or other selfharm. Studies have shown that genderaffirming care is safe and is livesaving. I want all Iowans to thrive. I want our children to live and I want parents and families to be able to help their children.

I support this bill. Protect children from the irreversible damage done by these money hungry medical industries. Our children are being mutilated at the hands of a greedy industry that values only profits.

I am in full support of this legislation. It's appalling to plain sad so many enablers stand in the ready to help a minor child ruin their life. A minor cannot get a driver's license until they're 16, cannot enter into a contract until 18, so why would anyone in their right mind aid and abet such a heinous act on a child? Let these youngsters grow up instead of putting them on the fast track to a life of misery and selfdestruction. Please PASS Senate File 110 and vote YES! Protect the innocent!

Thank you for bringing SF110 as our children need protection from this life altering decision that they are not old enough to make yet. If children start taking puberty blockers and they change their minds they are told they can stop and everything will go back to normal. That's not the truth. Surgery is permanent and you can't go back. Thank you for this legislation God bless you.

I STRONGLY OPPOSE SF110. Health care decisions belong with patients, their families, and their medical providers. Gender affirming care is supported by 29 major medical organizations. It is proven to save lives. The legislature has no business dictating personal medical decisions for anyone. Please do not allow this massive government intrusion into Iowans' private lives to advance.

I strongly object to and urge you to vote NO on SF110. Gender affirming healthcare is a necessary and vital part of ones overall physical and mental wellbeing. Healthcare decisions should be the province of individuals, their families, and their healthcare providers not legislators. Everybody deserves the opportunity to express themselves in a way that feels right and true to them. Please respect that autonomy and demonstrate humanity to all, especially our vulnerable youth.

I am in strong SUPPORT of this bill SF110. Again, common sense legislation that no one could have anticipated even having to need but it is imperative. Of course a physician should be liable to the potential harm that can be done to a minor aged child for a life long consequence elective surgery. We already have proof of physicians not properly considering the aspects of such things with no motivator to do right by their oath of office to do no harm because all liability is waived. This is the proper incentive to ensure proper care is being given & considered. An absolute must pass piece of legislation.

Keep gender affirm care legal. Gender affirming care is LIFESAVING care.

Please support this bill!! CHILDREN are encouraged to have life altering drugs and surgeries performed before they are 18 years old! (Sounds like even some children are surgically mutilated as early as 12 years of age.) This is horrific and the consequences are FOREVER! Why any parent would support such abuse is beyond me! This can not be something we support in IOWA!! Please protect our children.

The bill allows 30 years after the date the individual turned 18 years of age to bring a civil action against such medical practitionerThe bill also provides that any medical practitioner that performs a gendertransition procedure on an individual in this state shall be ineligible to receive any funding from the department of health and human services. As a former resident of Iowa and a registered nurse in a neighboring state I do not support restriction to access and criminalization of any component of LGBTQ care. LGBTQ clinics are not recruiting children for sex change surgery. They are sanctuaries for marginalized people to be seen, heard, and cared for without judgement. Why are we allowing elected officials (often without any medical training) to dictate public policy on our most intimate needs (identity, sex, procreation).

Please deny SF110 any further progress in our state legislature. There is no social benefit to denying anyone healthcare, and denying gender affirming care to vulnerable Iowans is not the proper role of elected officials. I strongly feel that medical decisions are between the patient and their medical provider. I feel like legislation preventing evidence based healthcare is violation of human rights. Serve all Iowans and turn down SF110.
