Please pass HSB112. This bill will help clarify and strengthen Iowa about what is and is not acceptable for curriculum and mandatory staff development training. It also provides recourse if its determined that the law has been violated. This is necessary as we have witnessed schools violating this in both curriculum and staff development.

I support HSB 112. This bill provides clarification for school districts to comply and strengthen previous laws that prohibit the teaching and advocating of stereotyping and scapegoating towards any demographic group. This bill also outlines the procedures to move forward with a complaint if there is a violation. This is important because I have seen violations in school districts specifically in the classroom but also in training of staff, where speakers are brought in. This bill is necessary to prevent these violations. Thank you.

I support this bill. We need more stringent repurcussions for individuals and districts who are currently finding loopholes and or ignoring the law put into law last summer.

I agree with this bill. We have had teachers in our school district teaching things that are political or noncurriculum to our children. When asked about it, there is no reprecussions.
