As a teacher in early childhood I personally witness the need of nutritional assistance for our children in Iowa and the nation. Tell me what your recent grocery cart looked like? Now imagine a young iowa family already over stressed financially and imagine what that cart will look like lacking cheese, meat and an abundance of healthy options that will support their growth. Nutrition determines brain development along with supporting growth and health benefits. Next time you are shopping for your family please look around and see what other people carts look like even imagine the carts of families that arent there due to the lack of funds.
