What is the Governments job? To protect the rights of the people and provide for common defense. Which one of those does stopping the sale of milk products in their native state fall under? I find it appalling that Iowa is the only state in the Midwest that does not allow for any type of sale of natural milk except for pet uses. We are one of only 7 states that have it outlawed or for the use of pets only. Meanwhile in the other states where it is legal what have the ramifications been for not having restrictions? Any more cases or deaths than the listeria constantly popping up each year in the Romaine lettuce? Its time to stop the overregulation of our ag products and to open up the markets for our small dairy producers who wish to offer this product.

Please support this bill. Iowa is one of just a handful of states that doesn't allow raw milk yet we are a very pro farmer state. this bill will benefit Iowans as producers and as consumers. many Iowans currently travel outside the state to purchase raw milk, their money could be supporting local farmers. Please also take a few minutes to read through the public comments that were shared before the subcommittee schedule was changed as they did not transfer over with the new schedule. I am including a link and a downloaded copy in case one way is easier to view, they are both the same info. Thank you for you consideration. https://www.legis.iowa.gov/committees/meetingPublicComment?meetingID=35021&action=viewCommitteePublicComments&fbclid=IwAR28eGnXScR2Ouwjv7H92O2eUYTtMaTGsYdTkqzDhPrEjWlfcWiFc2cLc

I support this bill. Why in the world would you make it illegal for people to purchase what they want, especially when it is something natural, not addictive and available to consume in its natural state safely for centuries before the modern era? Government isnt our mommy. And it sure shouldnt be pimping out our individual freedoms to corporate lobbyists.

Please support SSB 3126. Ive looked through all of our founding documents and I cant find the place where it says the government shall restrict the sale and purchase of natural dairy products. Look at the other states that offer them and see if it has had a negative or harmful impact on anyone and you will find the answer is no.

As consumers we should be able to purchase whichever goods we'd like from whomever we'd like without interference from the government. My body, my money, my choice.
