I oppose SF 2002. During a time when the need to protect the safety of our communities is paramount, this dangerous bill would do exactly the opposite. Further, it would make state officers liable for aiding the federal government in enforcing gun laws in any way, subjecting our local law enforcement to expensive legal fees and other potential costs. With so much to de done in Iowa to help improve our safety, I dont see how this bill will do ANYTHING good for my family. Please oppose this bill!

I oppose SF 2002. The federal government should be able to tax firearms. The federal government should also be able to require gun owners to register their firearms and be able to track them. The government requires cars to be registered and tracks them. The federal government should be able to forbid the possession, ownership, use or transfer of firearms. With this bill you want to pass you are giving guns more rights that people. This bill you are wanting to pass is anti rule of law, and anti law enforcement. The answer to public safety is not unregulated guns in the hands of dangerous people. Please protect the general public and our law enforcement men and women by responsible regulation of firearms. Which this bill does not do.
