RSAI and UEN support HF 660. It allows professional development activities that are truly associated with educators' work at school to count toward continuing education requirements for licensure renewal. There is collaboration with the teacher's evaluator regarding their individual education plan and the AEAs and others provide quality learning opportunities that an educator can access without a huge investment of their income, or in some cases, even funded by their school districts. Teachers have so much work to do in lesson planning and reviewing student work and elevating their practice through these professional development opportunities, much of which happens outside the school day. We think this is common sense legislation that is efficient, saves teachers time and money, and is related to the student learning at their school, which is the ultimate goal of improving instruction. Thanks for the opportunity to comment.
