Steven Jordiso [Iowa Parks and Recreation Association]
Iowa Parks and Recreation Association supports offering Iowans freedom of choice regarding fuel options. Small engines and motors (e.g. lawn mowers, chain saws, trimmers, generators, leaf blowers, snowblowers, etc.) require nonethanol or nonblend fuels. Usage of such fuels cause premature failure, additional repair work, as well as voiding warranties. A provision within HSB185 does incorporate fuel stations offer at least one pump (both sides) E0 nonethanol and nonblended fuel. Mandating all fuel stations offer only ethanol, blended fuel, or biodiesel will result in increased budgets for equipment repair or new purchases for 947 municipal governments, 99 counties, and state agencies as well as private sector lawn care/snow removal companies.
