Good morning members of the House Appropriations committee, thank you for serving Iowans this legislative session, especially into overtime. Rep Weldon, thank you for working tirelessly for the kids! To all members, I ask for you to move this bill to the House floor for debate and vote. Many of you know our stories, the stories of our kids that were diagnosed with cancer. Funding pediatric cancer research with this tax bill shows the legislature is serious about moving Iowa in the right direction. I had always hoped funding this research would not be political, however I've seen with my own eyes, it is. We can and must do better for Iowans, especially the kids that no longer or are too young to have a voice of their own. Today, each of you are their voice! We all have more work to do, I will see many of you next session. Please stop by for a visit with me under the Rotunda Tuesday, January 12th 2027 between 10:00am and 2:00pm. Scott Kaas Devyn's dad

Please move this bill forward for the kids. Every year we wait another 150200 kids is diagnosed in Iowa. Too many of these kids have to get on airplanes while theyre sick and leave their families behind to find treatment in other states. Too many of these kids dont survive their treatments. This money could turn Iowa into the place to be for kids cancer treatment. Please do not make kids with cancer into political pawns.
